Andrea and John are such incredible people. Resilient. Loving. So much fun!! They are the kind of people that everyone wants to show up for and wants to be around and so, this wedding was a huge celebration of family, of friends who are like family, of life and of love.
I’m excited to continue our recent interviews with our couples about their thoughts about their wedding day. I know so many brides and grooms are using our blog posts as resources for their own day and I know this can be really useful. Andrea answered these questions before they set out on their honeymoon. Here is what she said:
What inspired you to pick your venue?
We chose Chesterwood because we fell in love with the beauty of it. The hydrangea path is absolutely stunning surrounded by the natural rural landscape of the Berkshires. We loved that we were able to have the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in 3 different locations at Chesterwood which really showcased the gorgeous grounds. We would highly recommend this as a wedding venue. It was an unforgettable day.
Can you share one unforgettable moment on your wedding day?
One unforgettable moment from our wedding day was when we were first introduced as husband and wife. I really wanted to practice for our first dance but John ensured me that we would be just fine. After seconds of being introduced and stepping foot on the dance floor John picked me up and carried me around the dance floor, gracefully might I add. We then proceeded to go by our wedding party slapping a “high five” to each and every one of them. It was a moment we’ll never forget.
What advice would you give couples currently planning their wedding day that you wish you had known?
I would recommend using a wedding planner. We used Eutopia Events! If you can’t do the full package definitely get one to help with the day of the wedding. It was worth the money and created less stress for us the weekend of our wedding.
What is a detail that you are really happy you spent the time and/or money on?
Hiring a professional photographer and spending the money is 100% worth it. It’s not possible for you to capture all of the details and memories on the day of your wedding. Tricia was able to do that for us and she was absolutely amazing and so fun to work with. We would highly recommend her. She rocks!
What was one of your favorite compliments from a guest about your wedding?
Everyone we talked to had an amazing time at our wedding. They said it was one of the best weddings they’ve been to and they had so much fun. That’s what we wanted. We wanted people to come and have a great time celebrating with us and we succeeded!
What was your favorite wedding planning resource?
I used Etsy, Pinterest, my wedding planner and friends and family to help with ideas and suggestions for our special day.
