She knew she had it within her all along but now something just clicked. “I can do this!” She set her sights on a goal with a definitive date. For her 10th wedding anniversary to Michael, she’d wear a white dress and this time she would feel both proud and beautiful.

To those of us that love Shawn and Michael, it has truly been inspiring to see Shawn go through a transformation this year. With fierce determination, Shawn made her health a top priority despite the schedule of a working mom with 3 boys (all under the age of 6). Her commitment to early morning trips to Berkshire West through what felt like the snowiest winter on record, weekly Weight Watchers meetings and a new outlook about herself brought Shawn to the goal she worked so hard for. Shawn has LOST 80+ in less than a year.

So, when it came to celebrating achieving the goal she set a year ago and the milestone anniversary, Shawn asked if I would take new wedding pictures for her. As someone who has been rooting her along this entire year (Shawn would text me her weekly weigh-in loss every Monday) I was so honored to be the one to do it.

We took photos at Trinity Church in Lenox where Shawn and Michael said their vows 10 years ago on April 28, 2001. This photo shoot was incredibly fun. We were laughing so hard as Michael tried to contain all that love for his bride and he made us both giggle as he responded to my posing cues like “c’mon give me some smoulder in those eyes!” Michael – you are really good at this!

Happy Anniversary to two very special people. Shawn – I’m so inspired by all that you’ve accomplished. You are truly BEAUTIFUL both inside and out.
