Remembering my time spent with Maggie and Doug on a beautiful September evening in Boston just makes me happy. This power couple are Surgeons at Mass General who work an incredible amount of hours, so to get them all to myself for a couple of hours was special.
As we walked, Maggie and I discussed our recent loss of our loved ones. I lost my mother to cancer last November and Maggie lost her sister Emily also to cancer last July. It was therapeutic to me to feel Maggie’s strength and hear how she was continuing to celebrate Emily’s life despite the painful loss. I feel honored that I personally had met Emily who was a bridesmaid at Heather and Mike’s 2013 wedding. Maggie & Doug’s engagement session included a walk to the bench along the Charles that is dedicated to Emily. It was really special to be there.
Maggie and Doug’s session around Beacon Hill brought us to the “most photographed street in New England” – Acorn Street. We laughed and had so much fun here. It was a joy to see the easy and fun loving relationship that Maggie and Doug share. I adore the shots we captured!
As we walked back to their apartment, we couldn’t believe the sunset that unfolded right before our eyes. Runners, bikers and walkers were stopped in their tracks to look up to the sky. What a gift to be able to capture these two with such a beautiful background.
I felt like Maggie and Doug were friends by the end of our session and I can’t wait for their wedding next Summer in Old Saybrook, CT.
Thank you both!
