No more complaining about winter and wishing it away!  I made a vow to myself a couple of years ago to embrace these cold and snow filled months. I teach fitness and came up with a Outdoor Winter Boot Camp program that gets people out and having sporting adventures in the cold.  As a photographer, instead of avoiding photo sessions during these months I started encouraging them and my awesome clients have been taking me up on it. That includes Rachel and Nate! They are getting married in May of 2014 and agreed to drive up from their home in Connecticut to the Berkshires for a winter engagement session. Nate grew up in the Berkshires and is an avid outdoorsman. The wintery scene, mountains, birch trees and snowfall during our session seemed to fit his style.  Rachel who exudes happiness would tell me that she was having the BEST time throughout our session. Now, tell me what photographer wouldn’t love hearing that! As we walked through the lightly falling snow and stopped to take pictures, I asked Rachel and Nate about how they met. When I had heard that they had been dating for nearly 6 years I was shocked. When I first met them last year at Shane and Nicole’s wedding, I thought they had just start dating, they were so sweet and it clearly seemed to me this had to be the start of a brand new relationship. It was actually in 2007 that they met.  Rachel’s best friend was insistent she drive up Berkshires to go to a party. Tired from a return flight that day, Rachel declined. Her friend pursued and Rachel finally gave in. Rachel drove to Massachusetts and went to the party with her friend. Nate was there but on a first date with someone else! As fate would have it, Rachel and Nate were introduced to one another and well, that night became the start of their history together. You never know when you are going to meet the right person, obviously it can be when you are both least expecting it!   I cannot wait to capture these two on their wedding day next May at The Society Room of Hartford celebrating with all their friends and family. Embrace the wait we are experiencing until spring and enjoy these adorable faves from Rachel and Nate’s engagement session!
