Maggie and Eliza’s Tanglewood wedding was cheerful, colorful, and the two were completely entangled in love. Oh and tears. Lots and lots of happy tears! From all of us, from vendors to guests, family and friends. That’s how powerful their love is. I first met these two amazing women for their engagement session at Naumkeag. I knew as I was capturing their love and hearing the stories of how their relationship progressed over time, that this love was unique and definitely special.
They both proposed to each other on the very same day! Eliza and Maggie’s non-competitive, equitable approach to proposing was simple: no plan (re: who would propose first), but on a trip to Asheville with friends, less than 24 hours before Eliza planned to pop the same question, Maggie beat her to the punch and dropped down on one knee on a breathtaking sunset hike on the Blue Ridge Parkway – the same mountain range where their first picture together had been taken, over 3 years prior. Later that night, Eliza proposed back on a hill under the stars, just two girls and their headlamps and a lot of happy tears.
Their connection to the Berkshires started at birth when Eliza’s parents lugged her to their 10th college reunion at Williams College (where Eliza would later attend and play hockey). Maggie’s connection to the Berkshires dates back to her mom, who grew up here. It was in Stockbridge where Maggie introduced Eliza to her family, not just immediate family members, rather 80 other cousins, aunts, and uncles at the famous Chory Easter party.
Thank you for trusting me to capture your love. Here’s to a lifetime of cherished moments kicked off by this absolutely perfect day.
