There’s something incredibly meaningful about photographing a small business built from passion and purpose. From the moment I stepped into The House of Polish in Lenox, I could feel it was more than a salon, it was a reflection of Paula’s strength, vision, and heart.

A mother of nine and the soul behind the business, Paula started The House of Polish with a personal mission: to create something not just for her daughter, but for herself. “As a mom, we want the best for our babies, so I started a nail salon for one of mine,” she shared. But this wasn’t just about building a business, it was about rediscovering who she was beyond the roles of mom and wife.

Paula had earned her cosmetology license in 2006 but hadn’t used it professionally in years so, when the opportunity came to return to something she loved, she embraced it. Later, she encouraged her daughter Casey to attend nail school, and their shared passion became the foundation for what is now The House of Polish.

One day, while driving her kids through Lenox, Paula noticed a “For Lease” sign. Something clicked. Within a week, she had the keys in hand and renovations were underway. “It just felt right,” she said. “I prayed it would come together, and it has.”

Today, The House of Polish is more than a beautiful space for nail art. It’s a hub of creativity, community, and connection. Paula takes pride in supporting other local businesses through her storefront window displays and loves watching people stop to see what’s new. “I want to grow into a part of the Lenox community,” she said and she’s well on her way.
