I really love how Abby and Josh’s story began. During the early days of Covid, both of their families were spending more time in their second homes in Richmond, Massachusetts. They didn’t know each other yet, but a mutual friend thought their parents would really connect. One day, Josh’s parents invited Abby’s parents over for a laid-back backyard barbecue. Abby decided to come along, and so did Josh. That was the first time they met. The very next morning, they were making plans to go kayaking together and that was the beginning of something really special.
Their wedding at Tanglewood felt just like them. Laid back, personal, and full of joy. Even with rain in the forecast all day, the energy stayed warm and happy. The team from KOWE handled everything behind the scenes and made sure it all ran smoothly and stayed stress free.
Josh said one of his favorite moments was watching Abby walk down the aisle to “At Last,” a moment he will never forget. They shared a private first look and wrote their own vows, which were heartfelt and funny in the best way. Abby said she will always remember standing there during the ceremony and seeing so many people they love in one place.
The whole day felt really thoughtful. From the gifts they gave their wedding party to the way they built in time to relax and hang out with family, it was clear they wanted the celebration to feel like them. There were great speeches, a packed dance floor, and nonstop smiles.
They even had advice for future couples. Write your own vows. Play to your strengths as a team. Thank the people who helped you get to this point. And do not let your guests sit too long. Josh added, mostly joking but probably right, let your wife lead. She is probably better at it.
Photographing Abby and Josh was such a treat. They were so easygoing and fun to be around. After the wedding they said I brought calm energy, stayed enthusiastic, and made everything feel natural. That meant a lot. Lisa and I left feeling so grateful to have been part of such a special day.
