When Lauren reached out, she mentioned that her family would be visiting the Berkshires from Colorado for just a few days in August. Her mother-in-law was turning 75, and she wanted to celebrate in a way that felt meaningful, by capturing the moments they were all together, especially with her 2-year-old twins, Fitz and Izzy.
I met them at her in-laws’ home in Monterey, MA, which was the perfect spot for this session. The garden was beautiful and peaceful, and you could tell right away it was a special place for their family. It made the perfect backdrop for an afternoon family shoot.
Like any session with little ones, things were a little wild in the best way. Lauren described this season of life as “hectic,”and said, “Time feels both fast and slow, is that possible?” If you’ve ever parented toddlers, you know exactly what she means.
There were so many sweet moments throughout the session, one favorite was when her husband started tickling their son, who ended up laughing upside down in his arms. Another was seeing the twins explore the garden with their grandparents. Those everyday interactions that don’t always make it into phone photos are the ones we love capturing most.
One of my favorite things Lauren shared was that Fitz and Izzy still light up whenever photos from our session scroll by on the digital frame in their kitchen. “Look! There’s G-ma and G-pa!” That’s exactly why I love what I do.
To the Feldman family- thank you for letting us be part of your visit and your celebration. We loved photographing your crew and hope these images bring back all the joy and silliness of the summer in the Berkshires. Can’t wait to see you all again!
