Emily and Joe met in the 7th grade lunch room after being introduced by a friend. He was unable to speak. Why? Joe had just stuffed a cookie in his mouth as Emily went to shake his hand. Little did they know, Emily would continue to leave him speechless for years to come.
Leading up to the wedding, Emily, Joe and I spent an afternoon together during their engagement session in Boston. They have lived together in Charleston for 3 years and were on the brink of moving into their new house in the suburbs. It was the perfect way to capture a part of their history as we walked (my apple watch said 7 miles) throughout their favorite neighborhood spots.
Emily and Joe had originally scheduled their wedding for August of 2020 and like so many other couples had to reschedule due to Covid. It made me so happy when Emily told me as we said goodbye at the end of the night “This is the best day of my life!” I am so glad that all that waiting lead to this dream of a day with the bonus of perfect weather.
Before I leave you to sneak peek of Emily and Joe’s images, I want to give a shout out to Joe’s Nonna who held my hand and told me many of the reasons why her Joe is extra special. It has had me smiling since this past Saturday.
Congratulations to the Merolas! xoxo
