ALANA AND TOBIAS’ ENDICOTT ESTATE WEDDING

On the wedding day and throughout editing these photos, I was obsessed with the way that Alana and Tobias looked at each other all day. They truly light up when they see one another. I have known Alana for years and I can spot her most genuine smile easily and that’s all there is when Tobias is around.

That’s why this day made all of us who were there feel complete joy and happiness. There were so many special details that were planned to make their guests feel special.  This is exactly what Alana and Tobias do, they extend themselves so that when you are around them you feel taken care of and loved.

I wanted Alana and Tobias to explain in their own words some of their planning details as I know my couples love learning about a wedding planning from the featured couple themselves. I asked them the following questions and here are their answers.

Q: What inspired you to pick your venue?
We were able to pick our own vendors and bring in our family’s business to supply the cheese and wine and beer!
We also loved the environment and that there were a lot of options for how to set up the day.
We could have our ceremony outside, cocktail hour on the ballroom, dinner and dancing inside the elegant estate.

Q: I know it’s hard to pick one, but what’s an unforgettable moment on your wedding day that really sticks out to you?
Right before the ceremony, it started raining pretty heavily.  I stood in the gazebo with my bridesmaids waiting for the rain to stop, and from a distance I could see our guests huddled together under the trees to keep dry.  It was a pretty sight, the trees actually did keep people dry, and the rain only lasted a few minutes. It was actually perfect, because the rain broke the humidity, and then it cooled off a bit and the sun came out.  It ended up being a beautiful night!  And rain on your wedding day is good luck, right?

Q: What advice would you give couples currently planning their wedding day that you wish you had known?
It takes a lot of work to plan a wedding!! But it was worth it. Have a vision to guide you but be willing to keep an open mind and not be too attached to what you think your day should be.  Remember that you can’t plan a wedding by yourself, and let others help you!

Q: What is an aspect about your wedding that you are really happy you spent time and/or money on?
The food and the cake! We wanted creative food that our guests could really enjoy. We also wanted to incorporate local flavors since we had a lot of out of town guests.  We both love bbq and having a smoker at our wedding was a really cool effect, we could smell the flavors during the ceremony!

We also both love dessert, so it was important to have a beautiful cake.  We had so much fun when we went cake tasting and really enjoyed picking out our cake flavors and design.
The food was out of this world and we received so many compliments, we are still hearing them today!

Q: What was one of your favorite compliments from a guest about your wedding?

That our wedding was very personalized, romantic and of course how happy we both looked all day long!

I love these answers and I love the two of you! I’m so grateful to have been a part of this day, thank you and congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Volk!

xoxo
