When Susie reached out just a couple weeks before her whole family was heading to Lenox, she was hoping to squeeze in something special, a family photo session as a gift for her parents’ 40th anniversary. As soon as she mentioned doing it at The Mount, I knew it was going to be something truly special.
The Mount is one of my favorite places in the Berkshires, not just for weddings, but for family portraits too. There’s something timeless and romantic about the grounds, and it felt like the perfect place to mark this milestone, especially since it’s where Susie and her husband were married years ago.
This session had everything I love about multigenerational portraits: real joy, genuine connection, and the kind of vibrant energy only young kids can bring. When Susie described this season of life as “chaotic,” I couldn’t agree more, but it’s the best kind of chaos.
When Susie was asked what her favorite moment from the session was, she said, “One of my favorite moments was when Tricia gathered all four cousins on a wooden bench surrounded by gardens. She asked the adults to step aside, crouched down to their level, and somehow managed to get every single one of them smiling at the same time.”
I’m so grateful the Flynn family chose me to help celebrate this anniversary. It was an honor to capture this moment in time and the love that 40 years has built.
