Although I’ve already had a few weddings this year, I have to say I’m looking forward to June when the season comes into full swing. Ali and Tom will be the first wedding in June at a venue that I’m so excited about – Tanglewood! Ali, Tom and I got together this week by conference call to discuss the timeline of their day. All of us wanted to make sure we made the most of the time we had to get beautiful, relaxed images. I have found this meeting with my couples to be so helpful in eliminating any unnecessary stress on that day. Ali and Tom will be married at Tanglewood and it’s a place that is meaningful to so many of us who live in or are originally from the Berkshires. I loved hearing Ali and Tom’s story of how they met because it made me realize how appreciated Tanglewood is to so many. Ali and Tom have both been performers in the BSO. Ali was a newcomer to the Tanglewood Festival Chorus in 2010 and made her first trip out from Boston to Lenox for a performance of Mahler’s Second Symphony. She went out with friends for dinner one night, and Tom someone she knew had been in the chorus for several years but didn’t know personally came over to Ali’s table to strike up conversation. During Ali and Tom’s stay at Tanglewood they continued to talk but Ali had no idea that Tom was interested in her. It wasn’t until they both returned to Boston that Tom asked her out on date and their relationship began. Now the place where they met and both have performed will be the meaningful and beautiful location of their wedding. Last fall, we got together to take some photographs on the grounds of this special place. With less than 2 months away until their wedding, I thought it would be fun to share these images from a different season. Enjoy!
