As I put the final touches on this blog post, I am feeling REALLY sentimental. Katie and James’ wedding will be the last one I capture as Cranwell Resort. The property is now under construction and will become Miraval Berkshires.
If you’ve followed my work for awhile, you might notice that Cranwell has been a part of my wedding season every single year. When I arrive there to photograph a wedding, it has always felt like home. The staff has always welcomed me with smiles, hugs and “can I get you anything Tricia?”
I look forward to seeing the beautiful additions that the new owners at Miraval will make, but I look back with such gratitude for all the experiences with other wedding couples, the staff, the architecture and landscape and even as a bride myself.
Katie and James your wedding was impeccable! A day that started out with rain changed into sun showers that included a rainbow as we drove from the ceremony in Chatham NY back to the Berkshires. When we returned to the reception, the sky was blue with the perfect smattering of clouds. This was the perfect atmosphere to take Katie and James out for pictures in the fall colors and mountain views.
I loved the jewel tone colors that Katie and James chose for the ballroom. It was bright, elegant and festive. The colors of the floral design, the 8 piece band ready to play and the dessert station of mini pies and cookies made their wedding reception feel like the coziest, sweetest way to take care of all their friends and family who had traveled to the Berkshires to celebrate. I know you’ll feel the same when you look at these pictures!
Congratulations Katie and James! I hope you’ve been enjoying this first month of marriage. Thank you Cranwell for all the wonderful memories, it’s truly been an honor.
