Chelsea and Zak met at Wesleyan, but it took their group of college friends living in New York to finally bring them together. So it felt right that their wedding was all about the people they love.

They chose Tanglewood as the halfway point between Zak’s family in Boston and Chelsea’s in New Jersey, and the day could not have been more perfectly fall. Crisp air, color everywhere, and an outdoor ceremony where they read the vows they wrote for each other. That’s still the moment that stands out most to them.

Then came the speeches. Neither of them knew what their best man and maid of honor had planned, and both were sentimental one minute and hilarious the next.

And the night ended the best way: everyone on the dance floor under a disco ball.

Planning ahead is one of my favorite parts of this job. Chelsea and Zak told me afterward that I “thought of everything beforehand, before we even knew what we wanted.” Hearing that means so much. We mapped out the family photos for cocktail hour before the day, so when it came, they could just enjoy every moment.

Lisa and I loved this day. Congratulations, you two.
