This beautiful wedding and this incredible couple is such a joy to share! Stephanie and James radiated such complete joy all day. For all of us, it was the most perfect day in the most glorious location and team of people to work with to make this day really special for the bride and groom.

I’ve received awesome feedback from my brides and grooms about the new feature on our blog that shares planning thoughts directly from our couples. So we continue today with Stephanie’s answers to a few questions about what went into her wedding. I hope you’ll read on:

What inspired you to pick your venue?  We really wanted a beautiful but natural location for our ceremony and a more rustic experience for our reception. We picked Gedney Farm because it was had both those things, and the barn felt spacious but intimate. I’m from the Boston area and we both used to live in New York so the Berkshires was the perfect location, pretty easily accessible by most of our guests and beautiful in the summertime.

Can you share one unforgettable moment on your wedding day?  My (Stephanie’s) sister’s toast was unforgettable. She really spoke from the heart, said some truly special things about both of us, and even cried (which is a rare sight to see coming from her!)

What is a detail that you are really happy you spent the time and/or money on?  We wrote short declarations to each other and read them during the ceremony. Even though it was a little scary to think about saying those things in front of all our guests, it really made the ceremony feel personal and special to hear words from your future spouse during the ceremony.

Where did you go on your honeymoon? Would you recommend it?  We went to Fiji! It was an amazing honeymoon, we went on great hikes, relaxed on some truly gorgeous beaches and even went scuba diving with sharks!
