Annie and Ted’s first date was August 1st. Annie joked that they should get married that same day too, so Ted would only ever have one date to remember. Years later, that joke became their wedding date.

The Williams Inn felt like fate: Annie’s great-great-grandfather was Byron Weston, whose family settled in the Berkshires generations ago and whose name graces Williams College’s Weston Field. It also sat perfectly between Ted’s family in Syracuse and Annie’s in East Longmeadow.

Getting ready was intimate, just close family and friends. In a quiet moment, Ted’s sister handed out handkerchiefs made from his late mother’s wedding dress, her handwriting stitched into the fabric. With no first look, the ceremony was the first time Annie and Ted saw each other all day, and it showed, both of them fighting tears at the altar.

After a quiet drive and a few stolen minutes back at the Williams Inn, cocktail hour rolled into a reception that never slowed down. Both dads gave speeches that were as funny as they were touching, and the dance floor stayed full once the 2000s hits kicked in.

Their advice for couples planning a wedding: find a vendor team you trust so much, they feel like guests at your own celebration. Their five words for the day: meaningful, classic, beautiful, fun, close knit.
