Driving out to Cummington, MA to meet Annie and Gil there was a thick fog from melting snow and a light rain that was falling. I was worried about the weather for this engagement shoot but Annie assured me that she and Gil were up for anything. Since Annie is in her second year of law school in Vermont and Gil is a busy professional in the Boston area, they knew they had to seize the moment rain or shine.
I am so glad we did. This rainy day engagement shoot was absolutely perfect. I loved walking around the property of Annie’s beautiful family home in our rain boots. It was fun just to let Annie and Gil enjoy being with each other. It’s so obivous when you are with them how excited they are to get married this summer – they have such an easy going and joyful way about them.
Annie and Gil told me that they met in college, at the beginning of Annie’s freshman year and Gil’s sophomore year. They went to Colby College in Waterville, Maine. They’ve been dating for 7 years and Gil proposed not too long ago on Christmas Eve of this past year. He proposed at the location of this engagement shoot which makes these pictures all the more special.
Thank you Annie and Gil for sharing this special place and for being such wonderful, grateful clients ( Annie gave me some handmade jam her mom made and a very sweet note as I was leaving the session.) It is such a pleasure just knowing you. Enjoy these images and I can’t wait to see you again for your August wedding in the Berkshires.
