Erica and Nic planned their wedding in just 5 months and it was wonderful to see that they had designed a day that was exactly what they wanted it to be. The celebration was held in two locations, including an intimate dinner with music, a happy hour before the ceremony and so many adorable couple portraits (even some in the rain). The day started with Erica and Nic getting ready at Bloom Meadows where they had the sweetest first look with their two dogs Hazel and Gibby. As an artist, Erica loves the creative vibe of MASS MoCA so she and Nic planned extra time in our timeline to travel from Williamstown to North Adams to get some really fun couple portraits. The creative spirit in me was ecstatic to have this opportunity and a couple who were up for anything and full of amazing chemistry. This location for portraits and their ceremony was also meaningful since Nic and Erica got engaged at MASS MoCA last year. They exchanged vows under Spencer Finch’s exhibit Cosmic Latte and had a private first dance in their ceremony space after all their guests left for dinner – completely adorable, unique and personal.
A favorite moment from the couple:
Getting to take photographs in the rain while their niece and nephews were splashing in puddles.
Advice from Erica and Nic:
If you are DIYing anything, factor in more time than expected. If you think it will take a weekend, give yourself 2.
After photographing Erica and Nic’s wedding I want to add to that advice. I think you should make your wedding exactly what you want as a couple. I felt so lucky to be a part of your vision – thank you for choosing me to be your wedding photographer – it was such a wonderful day!
