When I think back to this day I think of Katie’s smile. Always constant, always full confidence about how the day would go because this was when she would marry her best friend, Nate. I loved the time I had with Katie and Nate during their portraits, it was so much fun to capture the natural surroundings of the property and to witness the happiness they brought each other just being together. 

I asked Katie if she’d share a few thoughts about her wedding planning. She was happy to share a few answers about their experience in planning such an amazing day. I hope this inspires other brides currently planning their perfect day!

What inspired you to pick your venue?

We chose Hancock Shaker Village because it is a beautiful outdoor setting and it is very close to where I grew up. It even has some of the same mountain views.

Can you share one unforgettable moment on your wedding day?

The first look was very special. It was great to see each other before the ceremony and spend some time walking around the venue together.

What is a detail that you are really happy you spent the time and/or money on? 

 I was really thrilled with everything! I am so happy that my mom grew all the flowers for the centerpieces in her garden and my Grammy and Papa put together the honey jar favors with honey from my Papa’s apiary.
