I love when two passions – photography and fitness – are able to intersect. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing licensed nutritionist, wellness educator and author Kathie Swift on a few occasions. Kathie is a practitioner of Integrative Clinical Nutrition and is an amazing wealth of knowledge, which she shares in her new book the Swift Diet which comes out on Sept 4th. The book shows how women can lose weight permanently by making changes to their eating habits to change their gut bacteria. In The Swift Diet, Kathie also discusses ways to live a healthier life by learning how to “heal your belly.”
After taking the photographs for Kathie’s bio for the book, she was nice enough to provide me with my own signed copy. I highly recommend you pick up the book, and once you finish it, make sure to take a look at the back flap. There you’ll find a photo I took of her. I have to say, it was both a thrill and an honor to see my work and name there in such good company! Kathie’s experience is so impressive, as the founder and director of cutting-edge nutrition programs at both Dr. Mark Hyman’s UltraWellness Center and Canyon Ranch in Lenox, MA. She’s also the co-author of The Inside Tract: Your Good Gut Guide to Health and a contributing author to Dr. Hyman’s NY Times Bestseller UltraMetabolism. Kathie is the Education Director for Food As Medicine, a professional nutrition training program for physicians and other healthcare givers and a lead teacher in the Healthy Living programs at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. located in Stockbridge, MA.
I was also honored to have Kathie as the guest speaker at my 2014 Summer Boot Camp sessions. Kathie gave an amazing talk on nutrition. It was mind blowing! I felt like I could listen to her talk all day. I look forward to more work together with Kathie and to advocate her knowledge of a topic as important as good health.
( A shout out and thank you to my friend Shawn Albert for connecting us!)
